Alexander III, Emperor of Russia

If his son had half his skill in dealing with people, things might have been very different.

My admiration for the Royal Passion Bearer Nicholas II is based on his personal life and religious devotion. In matters of state I am more an admirer of his father Alexander III. For some interesting alternative royal imagery you might look for some iconography of the Russian Royals. They are canonized saints in the Orthodox Church.

Oh, yes. Some of it's very good. Hard to find anything in the public domain, though. I'll look for some next week.
